Welcome! I'm glad you've found your way here. It takes courage to slow down and examine our lives. The step you're taking towards growth and recovery is a brave one.
I consider it an honor to hear your story and work with you towards change. Whether you are battling anxiety, low self-esteem, going through a transition such as a new marriage, career change or are dealing with past wounds, my hope is that you'll find a safe place to land as we work together to find a place that brings fulfillment and helps you reach your goals.
I work from a person-centered approach, understanding that we each come with our own strengths and challenges. I offer a collaborative approach and an encouraging space utilizing techniques from a variety of theoretical frameworks including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.
My background includes earning a Bachelor's of Arts in Communication Studies from Clemson University in 2001. I received my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2011. My husband and I completed our family with our first son born in 2011 followed by our second son in 2015.
I am licensed with the State of South Carolina and the State of Georgia as a Licensed Professional Counselor and have experience working in a community mental health center in a variety of different settings, working with children, adolescents and adult patients both in individual and family therapy. I have had the privilege of working collaboratively with my clients on issues surrounding depression, life transitions, grief and loss, interpersonal relationships, self-esteem issues, personal growth, professional development, anxiety and trauma including physical and sexual abuse and PTSD.
