Personal Growth and Transition

Personal Growth:

Are there things you know you would like to improve about yourself but, you haven't been able to find the time to focus on them?

Personal growth can focus on any facet of your life.  It includes improving relationships, making a change you have always wanted to make, or having a space for you to dream about what you want for your future. Many of us do not have the emotional space or energy to engage in self-examination alone.  Some of us find the idea of exploring our sometimes hidden or secret wants and insecurities overwhelming. If so, personal growth counseling might be helpful for you.

Common Areas for Personal Growth and Development

  • Self Esteem
  • Stress Management
  • Career Development
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Spirituality
  • Goal setting
  • Relationships

“If it isn't broken, don’t fix it.”

Many people wonder what is the point of going to therapy if things are going well. We would not suggest that everyone “needs” therapy. However, we do believe that everyone could benefit from checking in with themselves and having the space to connect more deeply with their goals. Personal growth counseling provides an opportunity to improve your overall wellness, as well as explore some issues that have been in the back of your mind for a while. Is there anything you can think of that might enhance the quality and satisfaction of your life?

Life Transitions:

When your life shifts gear, extra support can help.

Transitions are a natural part of life: marriage, new additions to the family, a new job – the list goes on and on. And through it all, the one constant we can count on is change. With change can come emotions, good and bad, the byproducts of which may include stress, problems with sleep, fear, irritability, vulnerability, or depression.

If you are experiencing a life transition, working with a therapist can help you adjust to change, navigate your challenges, and discover new coping strategies that allow you to better adapt in uncertain or difficult times.

Common Life Transitions

  • College
  • New Job/Career Change
  • Relocation
  • New Marriage
  • New Baby
  • New medical condition
  • Grief and Loss
  • Divorce
  • Changes in Finances
